Gwent And MU Online Celebrate The Holidays Beginning Today
Earn all kinds of seasonal goodies in both games starting today.
There are always a few who wait as long as possible to get their holiday events rolled out, but who are we to complain. They still get them out there. Today, CD Projekt Red kicked off the annual Gwent Winter Event and the MU Winter Festival is underway in Webzen’s MU Online. One involves collecting pine cones and exchanging them for themed vanities while the other has players hunting Santa Claus monsters. (Our relationship with Santa has really changed over the years.)
Let’s start with Gwent. The Witcher card game’s Winter Event runs through January 11. During the event players will collect pine cones as the event currency by logging in each day, completing dailies, and winning matches. Collect enough pine cones and exchange them for vanity items such as card backs, borders, titles, and more. In addition, those who own the Geralt leader skin can pick up two special contracts that will reward them with Red Hat and Candy Sword trinkets. Both of these are equipable. Finally, CDPR is celebrating the second season of The Witcher series by offering all players a free Geralt-leader-skin-exclusive sword inspired by the series.
On the MU Online side of things, a new Santa Village hub has been added where players can pick up quests and take part in holiday activities. The event runs through January 4 and during that time players will hunt Santa Claus monsters in various regions in order to get a random buff. When it comes to visiting the village, players are going to want to time it right, as the 100th and the 200th players to visit the village will receive special gifts. In addition, players can hunt level 48+ monsters in order to get their hands on Boxes of Ribbons containing weapons, armor, and more.
