Aion Classic Server Consolidation

Tomorrow, January 12, NCSoft will be consolidating the Aion Classic servers Siel and Israphel into one bigger server. As we all know, when that happens, it often changes more than just the server the player logs into for them. Some players have to give up their character names or guild (legion) names. Housing, mail, and the like all have to be sorted. You know the drill.

To prepare players to deal with all of this, the Aion Classic team posted a FAQ yesterday, explaining how their particular system will work. Interestingly, a lot of it won’t just come down to the players that already exist on the server being consolidated onto getting to keep everything by default. For instance, in the case of player name conflict, players will need to submit a support ticket. Once that’s done, Support will then assign ownership of the name based on the level of the character. If one or both of the characters are both under level 45 then the character with the highest level gets the name. If both are 45, then the determination will be based on who has had their account the longest.

Another important thing to take into account is that if players have characters that are one faction on Siel and the other faction on Israphel, the consolidation will result in them having both factions on the same server. It seems this may be allowed to stand. However, the downside is that a player with characters of both factions on the server will not be able to create any new characters until they delete all the characters of one race. This also means that whichever race is left will be the one you’re stuck with...so choose wisely.
