5 Of The Best MMOs With Auto-play Features

If there’s one thing that’s true about MMOs, it’s that they can get to be a bit much. Most of them have a lot of different things to do and all of those things take time to get done. While doing things is what playing a game is for, sometimes it can get boring to sit around and do the same thing repeatedly just to achieve something in the game. It’s made doubly annoying by the fact that being able to do the thing you really want to do can be locked behind doing stuff you don’t want to do, repeatedly.

This is where auto-play features come in. We’re not talking about full idle games here. Although, those do have their place. But, it’s always nice when a more grindy aspect of a game allows you to just leave it in the hands of the game so you can concentrate on other things.

Today, we’ve found a few MMOs that offer useful autoplay features – ones that offer some respite from general grind.

Old-school RuneScape

Of the games on this list, Jagex’s Old-school RuneScape is one with more autoplay. A large portion of the game can be played auto-played, allowing players to nearly AFK their way through it. We really wouldn’t suggest doing that for every aspect of the game, but it will come in handy for farming.

Aion Classic

NCSoft’s Aion Classic really only offers auto-play for one feature. That would be the auto-hunt function. This offers players the opportunity to get grinding done while doing literally anything else. It won’t get the story content done for you, though.

Black Desert Online

Quite possibly, the most popular auto-play feature in Black Desert Online is the AFK fishing. Players can send their character fishing and walk away for a while. It’s very useful for those looking to make a lot of money in the game.

Eve Online

The space MMO from CCP Games, Eve Online, can be a pretty tough game to play. It’s a game that requires players to take out insurance on their ships and characters if they don’t want to lose everything when they die. That said, it does offer some auto-play features as well. These make resource gathering, crafting, and the like a bit less cumbersome. The ships also have auto-pilot, for traveling through space. Players should just beware where they use it.

Lineage II: Revolution

The only mobile-only game on our list, Netmarble’s Lineage 2: Revolution has a fairly robust auto-play system. Players can automate quite a few things in the game, including combat and questing. It might seem like a waste to some, but it’s one way to play a Lineage game on the go and let the system handle the more mundane aspects of the game.
