WoW Classic Update Kicks Off Second Phase Of Wrath Of The Lich King
Ulduar received a lot of love.
Earlier this week, Blizzard dropped Patch 3.4.1 for World of Warcraft Classic. This update continues the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, re-tuning encounters in Ulduar, and even increasing the power level of items found there. The goal is to have the encounters use the original iterations from Patch 3.1 of OG WoW. As for the items, those that are crafted using Ruined Orbs, Emblem of Conquest items, and Season 6 PvP rewards have been increased. This is different from the original game, but the devs feel it's appropriate as they’re releasing Ulduar in its “pre-nerf state”.
This update also introduces Titan Rune Dungeons as a new optional game mode. It’s activated in the WotLK Classic heroic dungeons when all five players interact with a Mysterious Device found near the dungeon entrance. Doing so activates Defense Protocol Alpha, which will increase the health and damage of mobs in the dungeon.
The update also includes several general changes and fixes. Those can be read about in the patch notes on the Blizzard forums.
Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
