WoW Cataclysm Classic Survey Asks What Players Don't Like About It And Results Could Change The Upcoming Expansion
While certainly a stretch and a gamble on Blizzard's end, could Cataclysm launch as a different expansion?
In April, Game Director Ion Hazzikostas' interview with Twitch streamer Asmongold revealed his interest in hearing from fans about where World of Warcraft: Classic should go after Wrath of the Lich King. Naturally, thoughts went to the Cataclysm expansion, which seems to be next based on Blizzard sending out a survey concerning what players liked and disliked about it back in 2010.
Wowhead received the survey from a user called Lord of Otakus. The survey lists a range of topics asking users about the highlights and downsides of Cataclysm. Starting out are very general questions relating to the user and eventually they go into the specifics about Cataclysm. The question Hazzikostas prompted players with during his interview also appears in the survey.
Features launched in Cataclysm become briefly summed up to set the field for users to select which they like or dislike coming to WoW: Classic. This can range from favoring the Raid Finder system or against Reforging. And, of course, users can expand on their choices inside answer boxes. With nothing confirmed for Cataclysm and Wrath of Lich King approaching its global launch, this survey might end up determining what features players could see in the future. Or even more intriguing is how Classic will evolve next when Cataclysm is described as the "beginning of the end" by some players.
Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
