Less Than 2% Of Players Cleared Black Fathom Deeps: World Of Warcraft's Season Of Discovery By The Numbers
Over 4.5 Million characters created.
Today World of Warcraft put out a video discussing the numbers for Season of Discovery. In this video we get info on the amount of characters created, how many runes have been discovered, and more. Let's jump into those numbers.
4,535,307 characters were created in the first week of the MMORPG's Season of Discovery launch. That's a lot of alts.
In Season of Discovery, there are over 100 runes to discover in various ways. Each rune offers a unique playstyle change for your characters, letting you build that shaman tank you've always dreamed of. Collectively players have discovered 10,205,090 runes. Only 0.09% of characters have collected all 12 of their class runes.
Of all the classes being rolled, there have been 509,960 warlocks, 305,731 shamans, 473,619 rogues, and 627,156 mages.
Only 1.9% of characters have fully cleared the revamped Black Fathom Deeps raid so far.
Ashenvale has proven to be a pretty deadly place in World of Warcraft Season of Discovery with 3,892,758 PvP deaths in the zone.

Note: Activision Blizzard has been sued by California’s Civil Rights Department, alleging violations of California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act and Equal Pay Act. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about the alleged violations within his company. These allegations have all been denied by Activision Blizzard and the company points to additional diversity and inclusion training as past examples of taking the accusations seriously at the time they were made.
