World Of Warcraft Classic Hardcore Realms Are Live. Can You Survive?
Are you ready for Hardcore?
World of Warcraft Classic Hardcore servers are officially live as of 6pm EDT today, August 24th. As you might imagine on a Hardcore server, death is permanent and you cannot resurrect yourself or be resurrected by any class abilities or items.
Players also have the option to duel to the death. Players can simply right click on another player and request a duel to the death. If the other players accepts, then the loser will be rolling a new character after the fight.
You won't automatically be flagged for PvP when attempting to attack another player on Hardcore WoW Classic servers, instead, you'll need to type "/pvp" to flag yourself.
Dungeon lockouts will be at least 24 hours long for players under level 60. The goal is to keep players from power-leveling in dungeons and have them out in the MMORPG's world.
Buff and debuff caps have been removed.
Also, note that Blizzard has put a zero-tolerance policy in place for griefing of any kind, including gameplay disruption, zone disruption, and malicious player killing/interaction outside of consensual PvP. The ability to kite big bads into town areas has been nerfed.
Note: Activision Blizzard has been sued by California’s Civil Rights Department, alleging violations of California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act and Equal Pay Act. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about the alleged violations within his company. These allegations have all been denied by Activision Blizzard and the company points to additional diversity and inclusion training as past examples of taking the accusations seriously at the time they were made.
