Players can't stream it yet, but they can create videos if they're in testing.

As I continue to track and write about the upcoming MMORPG Stars Reach from Playable Worlds, I always have to temper my interest. While I've covered things like their skill system, their exploration focus, and other design decisions, I still have to remind myself that this title is still quite a ways away from an actual full launch.

New trailers sometimes make it hard to remember that, though. The latest new trailer (below) closes with a great tagline. "You are being given a galaxy. What will you make of it?" Just the implied promise is intriguing.

Trailers and blogs from the devs are great, but what are players in the limited testing thinking so far? We should start to find out as the non-disclosure agreement (NDA) applied to testers is being updated.

You can't stream yet, but testers can share pictures, videos, and impressions of what they've played so far.

“We’re building Stars Reach in a new way,” said Raph Koster, CEO and co-founder of Playable Worlds. “By sharing our progress early, we’re able to gather valuable feedback that directly impacts game design. In line with this transparency, we’re updating our NDA as of November 7, 2024, to allow players to share recorded videos, screenshots, and written impressions of the game. While livestreaming remains restricted until later stages, we encourage players to document their experiences.”

We aren't in testing yet, so I don't have impressions to share directly, but keep an eye out on the old internet if this is a title you've been watching, too. Don't forget to wishlist it on Steam.
