WildStar's Composer Creates A Melody To Honor Cancer-Stricken Contributor
Fans often keep up with what developers of their favorite games are up to after that game goes offline. It's much more rare when developers keep tabs on fans, but that was the case recently with WildStar's former composer -- even if the occasion for his interaction was a less-than-happy one.
Prominent WildStar player and podcaster Avidguru is suffering from colon cancer, and the prognosis isn't good. His circumstances prompted Jeff Kurtenacker to compose a theme that sounds like it could have been ripped straight from the game's audio files, or even the credits of a movie. Titled "Swordmaiden's Prayer," it's a properly melancholy tune, though not without a feeling of hope rippling through. Give it a listen:
This is for you @Avidguru. It was an honor to revisit these #WildStar themes & compose this just for you. @Pappylicious gave the track name, lore, and memorable quote. Please join with all Nexus fans and enjoy this requiem, Swordmaiden's Prayer. Much love! https://t.co/dGP7JtNsh2

"... may the weight of our words, the remembrance of our deeds, and the measure of our hearts echo both in this world and the one that comes after."
