Ever since Stars Reach dropped the NDA on videos, if you've been curious about the MMO, you've been able to search up some content pretty easily. If you are lucky enough to get into testing and needed a guide on how to start, you've even got options there, too. In fact, Avi and Light, part of the Playable Worlds dev team, have a recommendation on a video for you in their latest look behind the scenes. I've embedded the Rommi Noodles video they recommend below.

Before you jump down there, let's check in with Avi and Light and see what they're most surprised with since Stars Reach was revealed back in June (original trailer also below).

So what's been surprising in limited tests so far? According to Avi and Light, quite a few things. First, seeing players find a way to make quartz (an important crafting material) in a way the devs didn't know it could be made and seeing groups band together to plan the destruction of a mountain from the bottom up have been key moments they team has enjoyed.

Avi then used the quartz-making method in front of the team, "I didn’t even know you could do that! I just used it recently in an internal test to craft some new tools myself and others on the dev team were like, wait, how did you do that?! I can’t wait to see what other crazy things we learn from you all."

Light skews more towards the community coming together despite the game's lack of real social systems right now as the biggest surprise. Those features are coming, but most testers have been banding together outside the tests. " We’ve had people work together to try to sculpt statues or write words on the sides of mountains. We’ve had people group up to try to make a mountain fall by collectively carving away its base. We’ve just recently had a group of people start making plans before the playtest even started to try to figure out what they were going to build together. That blew me away," says Light.

If you're keen to see what's coming and why the team recommends content like Rommi Noodles' video below, make sure to hit the full post up.
