We May Be Getting A Horizon MMORPG, But Who Sony Is Partnering With May Scare Some Players Off
Rumors are that Sony and NCSoft have teamed up.
Here’s some interesting and potentially cool news for fans of the Horizon universe. The game may become an MMORPG. According to the South Korean news site MTN (translation via VideoGamesChronicle), Sony and NCSoft are working together on the project, and it seems NCSoft is in the process of hiring staff to work on the game – codename ‘Project H’.
Of course, this isn’t confirmed. In fact, NCSoft’s global communication officer has reportedly stated that “it is difficult to confirm information about unpublished projects”.
If true, this is one heck of a step into the multiplayer direction that Guerrilla Games was looking to take the IP. Especially since they were reported to be looking at co-op initially. Depending on how it’s crafted, a Horizon MMO could be the perfect thing for fans, or a complete disaster, and not everyone will be happy with the choice of NCSoft as a partner. We shall see.
