Today's The Day: Blizzard Will Open The Gates For WoW: Wrath Of The Lich King Classic In Under Two Hours
Relive or experience the dangerous across the icy continent of Northrend.
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic has been highly-anticipated for months and will finally be available in under two hours, specifically, at 6 p.m. Eastern Time, sending players to the icy continent of Northrend to face the undead Scourge and Lich King atop Icecrown Citadel.
The expansion is faithful content-wise to the original release in 2008, featuring the Death Knight class, leveling zones like Grizzly Hills, and re-introducing iconic dungeons and raids of old. Blizzard has a host of blogs for fans willing to dive deeper into everything the classic expansion offers out the gate. There are even interviews with the dev teams about their thoughts and approach to re-creating Northrend.
As mentioned, 6 p.m. Eastern Time (hopefully no delays) is the release time, and you can find other times depending on where you live. Also, it's a no-brainer but players should expect long queue times. Blizzard is launching globally, so server issues and unusual backend problems could setback its start.
With WoW: Wrath of the Lich King Classic nearing launch, what will you do first in-game? Let us know below!
Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
