It's Time Once Again To Protect Telara From Invading Mechs In Rift And Earn Mounts
Yes, there's some cash shop offerings, too.
If you really have no plans for this weekend and you, for some reason, still have Rift installed, gamigo has brought back the MMORPG's Mech event. Giant, lumbering mechs are back in Telara and are rampaging around and it's up to players to stop the madness. The event runs until March 17th.
Head over to Sanctum, Meridian, or Tempest Bay to pick up your daily quests or to join in on Warfronts. The "Looking for Group" tool will also allow you to queue up for expert dungeons, zone events, and will help you gather up some of the event's Chaos Mote currency. Completing all the daily quests will net you 65 motes each day per character.
Specifically, the quest "Defender of the Elements" will see players teaming up to take on special fights in Vostigar Peaks, Silverwood, Freemarch, Shimmersand, and Stillmoor. While the game's cash shop has special mech-themed mounts available, you can also use your Chaos Motes to snag a few mounts (and other rewards) that you may not currently have in your collection.
