Swords Of Legends’ First Major Update Introduces Two New PvP Modes With a Guild-vs-Guild Zone
There’s some definite PvP love on the way.
It would appear that a big focus of Swords of Legends Online’s upcoming content will be on the game’s PvP, and they’re starting with the previously announced update 1.1: The Forbidden Court -- coming November 18. In the previous announcement, they teased a new zone, quests, raids, and a 20-man PvP titled Battle of the Sands. Today, we not only find out more about that mode, but also the new guild-vs-guild zone, The Fifty Islands of Chuyun.
As mentioned, Battle in the Sands consists of two stages. The first has players competing in a five-minute free-for-all where players simply earn points by taking each other out, while the second is a 10-v-10. Now, we know that there’s a monster involved. More accurately, during the first stage, a monster stone will spawn and if a player picks it up, they will become a monster in the next stage. There will be one on each team when the players are split into two groups of ten. If for some reason, a team ends up with all players that didn’t pick up the stone, then the player with the highest score in the first round becomes the monster.
During the second stage, players are fighting to acquire healing runes. The goal is to be the first team to have a total of three runes, but in cases where that doesn’t happen before the ten minutes are up, the team with the most runes at the end wins. It should be noted that this whole thing is complicated by the runes changing their location every minute.
Next, we have the guild-vs-guild content, The Fifty Islands of Chuyun. In this mode, players are seeking out treasure on floating islands that were created when Duke Dongyuan’s artifact was broken. During the week, players can enter this map to gather the materials required to participate in the GvG siege battles. Attackers attempt to conquer the defenders’ stronghold and defeat their ruin spirits in a bid to destroy the soul source core. Of course, the defenders must defend this core, lest they lose the island to the attackers – and all the rewards that go with it. Rewards include things like exclusive mounts, titles, and accessories.
Since this is a PvP-focused update, and more PvP is already in the works, players should expect some class balancing – which you can read about in full in the latest round of patch notes.
