Shot Online Celebrates 10 Years With Rare "Artefact" Drops And Ways To Earn Loot Faster
A decade is a long time for any online game to remain in operation, whether it's an MMORPG, MOBA, or even a golf simulator. Although Shot Online first launched in 2004 in Korea, Webzen is choosing this week to celebrate the game's 10th anniversary -- maybe since its launch in the West? -- with a big new update.
The update adds three new game modes: EXP, NG, and Drop, which increase the experience, NG (in-game currency), or drop rates for items, respectively. This allows players better opportunities to obtain the rewards they want.
And what kind of loot can they get? How about artefacts (their spelling, not ours), which drop occasionally while playing -- more often on Drop courses, naturally -- and can be used to craft EXP items or costumes typically sold only in the cash shop.
If you're still willing to spend at least a little money, there are two new subscription types, "Deluxe" and "Luxury," which cost less than a Platinum subscription but still carry some benefits. And speaking of benefits, if you're level 110 or higher, simply log into the game after the update goes live to get 30 days of a Deluxe subscription for free!
Shot Online's 10-year anniversary update goes live Oct. 24 for European servers and October 25 for the US server.
