Perfect World Entertainment Becomes Gearbox Publishing
The company was put under Gearbox's care after being purchased by Embracer Group.
If you were wondering how Perfect World Entertainment being purchased by Embracer Group about four months ago would change things, we now know one way. Following the purchase, Embracer placed PWE with Gearbox Publishing. Today, that’s become even more official as the PWE team announced they are, in fact, Gearbox Publishing.
This means they'll be using Gearbox's branding from here on out. As time goes on, we will cease to see the Perfect World Entertainment logo on their games. Ideally, it shouldn’t change much else. It shouldn't affect any of the games. (But that always remains to be seen.)
That said, some things will change immediately. An important thing to note – if you’d like to get responses to your support tickets – is that all employee addresses will now be @GearboxSF.com accounts. This is also where your newsletters will be coming from. So if you care about those, it might be a good idea to whitelist them in your email.
