Koy Takes GWENT Challenger Tournament Title and $60,000
The GWENT Challenger finals took place this past weekend on Saturday, May 13. During the event, the four winners of the community qualifiers took on four professional gamers in an attempt to win their share of a $100,000 prize pool.
The four community players were Mikhail "Fion56" Yastrebov, Alexey "Oikumena" Raspopov, Alexander "ProNeo" Shpak, and Barret "Vishra" Goss. The pro players they went up against consisted of Adrian "Lifecoach" Koy, Jeffrey "Trump" Shih, Peter "ppd" Dager, and Kacem "Noxious" Khilaji.
By the end of the tournament only Koy and Khilaji were left to fight for the top spot. The two battled it out a best of five that took all five matches to determine the winner. When the dust settled, Adrian "Lifecoach" Koy was crowned the victor, earning the largest portion of the prize pool. The tournament standing -- and winnings -- broke down as follows:
- Adrian “Lifecoach” Koy — $60,000
- Kacem “Noxious” Khilaji — $20,000
- Peter “ppd” Dager — $10,000
- Mikhail “Fion56” Yastrebov — $10,000
If you missed the tournament, you can watch the entire ten-plus hour event on the GWENT YouTube page.
