It's Time To "Seek And Destroy" In War Thunder's 2nd Big Update Of 2024
Sure, new vehicles are here, but the real news is in air-to-air combat.
War Thunder has been talking about the "Seek and Destroy" update for just shy of a month now. This update is the second big update for the strategy game this year and it brings quite a few additions, and that doesn't just mean new combat vehicles.
FOX-3 missiles are now in the game and these air-to-air missiles add a whole new dimension to combat. All gaming nations have access to this tech provided you have the tech level and aircraft that can support them.
My favorite addition is an update to cockpit visuals for a slew of helicopters and some changes to damage. For example, you can still get a flat tire on your land-based beasts, but now you could also have wheels completely blown off of your vehicle. It may not mean you're dead right away if you have multiple axles, but it is something you'll want to take care of quickly.
Speaking of "taking care", you can now heal any injured troops in your vehicles if you need to get them back in tip-top shape. Ground vehicles got some love in the way of additional modules, and chaff and flares have finally been separated.
Get a look at the full list of vehicles added and the quality of life improvements that Seek and Destroy adds on the official site. While you're there, make sure to check out the HMS Queen Mary. Some players are already saying that examining this model has brought history to life in a very real way. Check out the comments in the YouTube trailer below for more on that!
