Infinite Crisis Shutting Down Aug. 14
Turbine's DC Comics-flavored MOBA perhaps never rose to the lofty heights that were anticipated for it, and so the game will be shut down on Aug. 14, according to a statement on its website. The game officially launched just over two months ago. It will continue to be free until the shutdown.
While it's certainly sad news for fans of the game and the staff at Turbine, it doesn't come as a complete surprise. It didn't rank in the top 4 in MOBA market share, according to a recent EEDAR report, and that Turbine "leaker" from a few months back said that Infinite Crisis cost a lot of money and "tanked badly," peaking at 1,000 concurrent users.
If you tried or were an avid player of Infinite Crisis, what do you think of the news? Gone too soon or deserving to be shuttered?
