Here's How Throne And Liberty Server Mergers Will Work, But We Still Have To Wait On The LIst
The Lunar New Year event is live today if you want something to do in the meantime.
Earlier this week I reported on the latest news from Throne and Liberty. That included the MMORPG's announcement of upcoming server mergers. Today we're getting more details about those mergers and how they'll go down, but we won't have a look at the actual list to see how many servers will remain until "later this week." Given that it is already Thursday, I now expect the list to come out tomorrow late in the day to try and get under the news headlines saying "Throne and Liberty is going from X servers to Y servers."
That's just a guess, though. Maybe it'll be early in the day so they get any headlines (good or bad) a few days in a row.
The mergers will be executed in stages with the first stage popping off on February 6th when the auction houses for the combined servers merge. This merge combines the early access auction houses and the post-launch auction houses by region.
The following week, on February 13th, all players can "purchase" one free transfer token. If you happen to have an active transfer cooldown at that time, it'll be cleared and cooldowns will be reduced to 72 hours for a time. You'll have until February 27th's update to use that transfer token if you want to pick a new home. If you don't do anything, you'll automatically be migrated to your new server at that time. Transfer cooldowns will revert back to 30 days at that time, too. During that open transfer two weeks, servers will have both a Sollent and Mastery buff and daily login rewards that vary by day.
Post-merger all leaderboards will be reset and the first Castle Siege event's schedule will be revealed.
There's a full breakdown of what transfers and what will not transfer on the Throne and Liberty site, but it looks like most of the stuff you would expect to make the journey with you will do so.
If you're looking for something to do in game right now, however, the Lunar New Year event is live today.
