Gwent's Journey Update Introduces New Progression System
Today, CD Projekt Red released a new update for its Witcher-themed card game Gwent. The update, titled Journey, introduces a new seasonal progression system to the game. For every round a player wins over the next three months, they will earn progress in Journey. There are 100 levels to unlock in this season, with rewards available in two tiers. The Standard (freebie) tier mostly rewards players with points every level (and the occasional avatar). The Premium level rewards players with everything from points to gear. The rewards in this tier vary quite a bit.
Players will also be able to upgrade Geralt's character with new weapons, armor, trophies, and more. There are also new ornaments like coin skins, animated avatars, and borders. There's also some new narrative content to unlock if you're one of those lore-loving people.
The Journey update is available across all available platforms. If you'd like to get the most out of it, you'll need to drop at least $10 on the Premium Pass. CDPR is also offering a Fast Travel bundle that unlocks the first 25 levels immediately as well as a Geralt skin and 20 extra ornaments for $25.
