Gwent Fans Will Soon Have A Standalone Single-Player Version
For those days when you’re feeling truly anti-social.
This may be one of those things that Gwent fans never really knew they wanted but they’re getting it anyway. We’re sure many will look forward to it, though. Today, IGN revealed that a new project underway at CD Projekt Red codenamed "Project Golden Nekker" is actually a new, standalone, single-player version of The Witcher Card Game Gwent. This means that if you’re one of those people who are interested in the game but not in having to interact with other people or having to play/load up The Witcher to play it, this is the game for you.
Those of you who enjoy the multi-player aspect of Gwent and perhaps just wanted a more robust single-player option for those anti-social days may not see the point in a whole new game. That said, CDPR states they hope to “provide a captivating single-player for players who prefer it over competitive multiplayer”. And let’s face it, a competitive multiplayer game with single-player functions is still a competitive multiplayer game. That’s the focus. This way, everyone can have what they want.
