Guild Wars 2 Launches Long-Awaited Profession Skills Update, Jormag Legendary Variant Weapon Skins, And Fixes
The first of many updates to come as the year wraps up.
Not long after ArenaNet released their Fall and Winter 2022 Roadmap for Guild Wars 2, they patched in an important competitive-focused Profession skills update, debuted the Jormag legendary variant weapon skin collection, and added fixes across the board today.
The changes to Profession skills involve elite specialization tradeoffs, 300-second cooldown traits, and general tweaks. For example, ArenaNet scrutinized if unnatural tradeoffs were necessary for the balance of GW2; some specializations lost their tradeoffs to realign their performance.
300-second cooldown traits received healthier mechanics to where defensive abilities are more active, with other effects reworked entirely. Moreover, the devs increased the base values and reduced the bonus against stationary enemies in Torment to make the damage consistent. Elsewhere in the update sees wide-sweeping adjustments to specializations, which you can read the exhaustive list on the Guild Wars 2 forums.
The Jormag legendary weapon skin variant collection is also available today. After binding an Aurene-based legendary weapon to your Legendary Armory, you can visit Leivas at Aurene's Enclave to unlock The Legendary Facets of Auerene to acquire the skins. In the November 29 patch, Primordus legendary weapon skin variants will follow the same steps as the Jormag versions.
ArenaNet also patched in some miscellaneous touch-ups. For example, they resolved the Hero panel preview displaying incorrectly on high-resolution monitors and an issue that prevented players from entering the Tower of Nightmares encounter as a squad. You can find additional improvements on the GW2 forums if you're interested to learn more!
