Guild Wars 2 Fall And Winter 2022 Roadmap Details Profession Updates, Legendary Weapon Variants, Festivals, And More
The end-of-the-year updates are a mix of balancing, cool goodies, and exciting activites.
ArenaNet has published Guild Wars 2's Fall and Winter 2022 Roadmap for viewers to get a general gist of what's coming as the year ends. Following a recent stream by the devs, GW2 will see competitive-focused profession balance updates, the sixth WvW World Restructuring beta, the Jormag and Primordus legendary weapon skin variants, in-game festivals, and the fifth and final Living World Season 1 Episode 5: "Battle for Lion's Arch."
Tomorrow kicks off a long-awaited balance update to professions. The changes are focused primarily on competitive modes, revisiting and changing elite specialization tradeoffs, 300-second cooldown traits, and the overall mechanical nature of classes. Alongside the updates comes the Jormag legendary weapon skin variants. After binding an Aurene-based legendary weapon to your Legendary Armory, visit Leivas at Aurene's Enclave to start unlocking The Legendary Facets of Aurene to acquire the skins.
Soon after, the devs will debut the sixth WvW World Restructuring beta on October 14, bringing back the "Call of War" unique event and allowing you to play WvW with a guild of your choice.
The fifth and final episode of Living World Season 1: Battle for Lion's Arch goes live on November 8 as a permanent addition to the game and comes with a new Strike Mission called "Old Lion's Court." The new mission will receive a challenge mode version with the November 29 update.
ArenaNet will add another profession balance patch geared toward all modes in the same patch. They will release preview notes a few weeks before the release date on the official Guild Wars 2 forums to gain public feedback and drive their adjustment plans as necessary. Also, the Primordus legendary skin variants will be added the same day, following the same steps to gain them as the Jormag versions.
"The Shadow of the Mad King" and "Wintersday" events will be approaching soon, the former much closer since it's the annual Halloween festival. October 18-November 8 starts the Mad King event and is available for all players level 10 and above. Players can grab new weapons, minis, and guild hall decorations. Wintersday between December 13-January 3 lets fans gain new weapon skins and minis while fighting the rogue toys of Tixx's Infinirarium or friends in a "capture the flag" snowball event.
