Get Ready To Celebrate Love In ArcheAge And Rift
Once again Valentine's Day is almost upon us and game companies are rolling out their annual celebration -- even in games that really aren't getting much in the way of updates otherwise. For example, Gamigo is kicking off events for both Rift and ArcheAge.
The Rift event isn't an in-game one, but rather a competition for the more creative among the player base. The idea is to celebrate love with videos, art, confections, or other creative endeavors. Players can submit creative projects of any type (provided they fit the theme of love) for a chance to win prizes.
Gamigo will be awarding prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. First place will receive a mount of their choice and 30 days of Patron status. Second place will get a costume of their choice and 30 days of Patron status. And, third place will receive 30 days of Patron status. It should be noted that gamigo did note in the tiniest print possible that when they say player choice on the mount and costume that doesn't mean players can pick costumes from achievements or power packs. If you'd like to enter the contest, rules on how to participate are on the Rift Forums.
As for ArcheAge, the devs are going for an in-game event asking players to help save the holiday. Titled "Saving Everyone's Valentines", the event tasks players with helping the Chocolate Merchant Piero complete deliveries in exchange for event coins that can later be traded for a selection of rewards. Rewards can be anything from a special title to kittie and puppy onesies. Details on how to participate are available on the ArcheAge site.
