Gazillion Implodes, Marvel Heroes Will Shut Down Friday
We hope you were like our Troy "Noobfridge" Blackburn, and got your final Marvel Heroes fix while you could. The game was supposed to shut down on Dec. 31, but in what has to go down as a collapse to rival Firefall, it will actually shut down ... Friday.
MassivelyOP has received a copy of the termination letter that an ex-Gazillion employee received earlier today, and it appears that he's not the only one looking for work. Multiple employees have confirmed via social media that they are now unemployed and that the game will shut down in two days. According to MOP's source, employees will not be receiving severance or any other kind of benefits, including accrued PTO, leading to some "real fuckin rage," according to one purported former employee on Reddit.
We'll keep an eye out for any more news as it comes along over the holiday weekend. For now, be thankful if you weren't impacted by this dumpster fire, either as a player or as an ex-employee of Gazillion. And if you were ... well, a four-day weekend is as good a time as any to try something new, right?
