gamigo's Strategy Title, Desert Operations, Gets Graphic Overhaul
Free-to-play military strategy game Desert Operations has been around for 10 years, and that's along time for any game to go without at least a little sprucing up. DO got that today, in what gamigo is calling "a holistic reskin," a visual overhaul that affects everything from units to buildings to maps to the UI. OK, maybe it's not that good, but it is pretty big. gamigo said that all 30 building models and numerous landscape details were improved. Even the achievements "shine more brightly than any medal polish could ever achieve."
As for the game itself, if you're hearing about it for the first time -- I know I am! -- it appears to be a web-based strategy title where you'll need more than firepower to win the day. Espionage, economics, and alliances will need to be carefully calculated to prevail, and you'll need to research new technology to keep up with your rivals. We're sure none of those elements would benefit from spending real money, though, because that would be wrong.
