Norrathians, check this out! Daybreak Games announced what’s on the way for EverQuest.

In the “Producer’s Letter April 2023,” the team behind the MMORPG said the new UI Engine for the game releases in April, more Tempest Festival content is arriving in May, and Pride Month familiars are returning come June.

Also in May, the Evolving Ruleset Progression Server — Oakwynd — launches. The server will start with Legacy characters and encounter locking, with additional bonuses (such as a 125% modifier to the normal loot rate and faction changes) being added at each expansion unlock. Legacy characters allow players to receive a semi-permanent experience bonus for all characters on the same account on the server. Encounter locking means that once an NPC is engaged, it will be locked to that character, group, or raid.

Like other progression servers, Oakwynd will follow a "Standard Unlock" schedule, where new expansions will automatically unlock every 8-12 weeks. However, earlier expansions will unlock at a faster rate. Also, the server will launch with only a standard True Box, meaning just one EverQuest client can be run per computer. However, when Omens of War is unlocked, the server will switch to a Relaxed True Box, allowing up to three clients per computer to be logged in simultaneously. Finally, when The Buried Sea is unlocked, the True Box restriction will be removed altogether.
