EverQuest II Gets 20th Expansion In November, While EverQuest Gets Its 30th In December
Producers Letter for both games give us timelines for the next expansions.
If you're an EverQuest or EverQuest II player, the end of the year is going to be a busy time for you. Both MMORPGs have expansions coming at the end of the year.
EverQuest II is up first with an expansion beta and preorders going live in October, followed by the expansion launch in November. This will be EverQuest II's 20th expansion if you can believe it. It's titled Ballads of Zimara. The level cap is going up to 130 with new solo, heroic, and raid zones. There's also new quests and more. You can re-challenge your favorite encounters with Chrono Dungeons.
The original EverQuest is getting its 30th expansion this December, with beta and preorders beginning in October. This expansion will be titled Laurion's Song. It features a level cap increase to 125, new zones to explore, raids, quests, missions, and more. Of interesting note is the mention of Alternative Personas, allowing players to switch between different classes quicker while retaining their current inventory, crafting skills, and flags.
November will also see Extra Life events in both games as the team looks to raise funds for the Children's Miracle Network charity.
It's always amazing to see EverQuest and EverQuest II continue to roll out updates and expansions when other, newer, games struggle in maintenance mode. Kudos to the EverQuest team and players for keeping those games chugging along.
Now, about that EverQuest 3...
