I Mean, Don't Get Those Hopes Up Yet...BUT EverQuest 3 MAY Be A Possibility For 2028
EG7 hopes to develop something using the EverQuest IP.
It's important to note here that nothing is set in stone, and no promises were made. EG7, the company with ownership of the EverQuest franchise through Daybreak Games, is simply "hoping" to do something with the EverQuest IP.
Right now things are only in the "ideation phase" as announced on EG7's Capital Markets Day (link at the pertinent timestamp, full presentation below) stream yesterday. CEO Ji Ham shows off a slide for IPs it hopes to develop, one of which was EverQuest listed as an MMORPG. The other two are H1Z1 and MechWarrior. He also calls EverQuest the company's "Most Important IP."
Fans of the EverQuest franchise will of course not be able to forget (and in some cases not be able to forgive) the failure of both Landmark and EverQuest Next. The former of course coming out as an actual game before tanking, and the latter never seeing the light of day.
Whatever hopes EG7 has for EverQuest appear to be a long way off at this point, so I wouldn't hold my breath, but this time it is more than just rumors and speculation, it's straight from the horse's mouth so to speak, and it is nice to think of a world with a new EverQuest MMORPG.
