Deep Dive Into Mount Balrior: Guild Wars 2's First Raid In Half A Decade
Get a look at some of the bosses and the new Convergence in a few videos, too!
Godspawn, the first update for the Janthir Wilds expansion in MMORPG Guild Wars 2, is coming next week. Obviously the update continues the expansion's story, adds new quests and adventures, and makes some balance changes. However, the most noteworthy part of the expansion, at least for PvE-centric players, is probably the addition of Mount Balrior, the first 10-person raid introduced to the game in 5 years.
Boy, does it look great. That said, remember, if you like raids in Guild Wars 2 then make sure to complete the content and give your feedback. This raid will likely determine if it is worth the team's time to add future raids.
Want a little peek at what you'll be getting into? Thanks to a post on the official site today you get exactly that. You can make it to the raid courtesy of portals in Lion’s Arch Aerodrome or Janthir Syntri. Expect to come across three primary bosses and multiple other encounters that test your adaptability. Make sure to explore if you're a lore-hound.
Greer and Decima are back, but they've changed tactics (mechanics) and will present more of a challenge. That said, Normal mode should provide a challenge, but be clearable by pickup groups. All of the bosses will receive a Challenge mode at a later date and the final boss will get a Legendary difficulty, complete with a world first race.
In addition to the raid, the post also walks through the zone and events surrounding the update's new 50-player Convergence.
Get a look at both pieces of content below and prep now!
