Crossout Adds Limited-time Arena Ranked PvP Mode
And a weapon that fires saw blades!
The latest update for Crossout is called Steel Gladiators and it kicks off a new season, while adding a limited-time ranked mode in a small arena. The Steel Gladiators season offers 54 levels of rewards, including the Adron cabin that was originally meant for space shuttles but was adapted for vehicular combat post-apocalypse. The season runs until April 27.
Also added in this update is a limited-time "Arena" mode that's just what it sounds like: tight 3v3 PvP matches, played in a best-three-out-of-five format. There are leader boards and rankings, so you can see who's the best, with rewards for reaching the various tiers. This mode runs until March 20, though ranked play only runs from February 24 to March 14.
And if you're looking for a brand-new way to tear a hole in your opponents, there's the Ripper, a new relic weapon that can only be crafted at the Secret Workbench. As the name implies, it fires circular saw blades, which the lore entry describes as "not only efficient, but also fun." Sure, it's all fun and games until someone loses a limb -- unless that was your intent in the first place. Then it's still fun.
