Autumn Harvest Returns To Rift And So Does My Nostalgia For An MMO That Isn't Going Anywhere
It's time for my "oh man I miss old Rift" event post.
Here we are once again. My nostalgia for Rift leads me to post about the Autumn Harvest Halloween event returning to the MMORPG, but then my heart gets heavy as it's just a recycled event in a game that isn't what I remember it being years ago and, at this point, it's probably safe to say will never be that again.
Honestly, if gamigo was going to add content to Rift, they surely would have done it by now. I think we can finally confirm it falls into the bucket of other games gamigo purchased to just milk until it's a corpse. This is despite them claiming back in 2021 that they had "no intention of stopping development" in the MMO. I mean, hell, years after the purchase, gamigo still hasn't even bothered to change the "Trion Worlds" in the Rift page's URL.
(In writing this, I have also noticed that gamigo has used the exact same header image, shown above, as last year.)
But, hey, let's put on a happy face! So...
Speaking of corpses, the Autumn Harvest event returns to Rift today and will run until November 6th. If you're Defiant, the Autumn Harvest quest givers await you in Meridian. Guardians should head to Sanctum.
Through daily and weekly quest completion, you'll earn the event's currency and you'll be able to purchase rewards including mounts, costumes, and pets, all of which have some type of "spooky" theme or style to them.
As a little "extra," if you log in between today and October 23rd, you'll receive 7 days of Patron subscription status.
Rift is also hosting another Dimensions contest, this time for World Food Day. Decorate your Dimension in the theme of "World Food Day" (whatever the hell that means), submit screenshots, and maybe you'll net some credits.
Now to go wipe away my Halloween tears.
