As Ultima Online Turns 27, Broadsword Prepares For Full Launch Of The New Legacy Server
The final stress test begins today.
One of the fun things about MMORPGs is that given the right circumstances and the right amount of love from the players they can run for quite some time. One such game is Ultima Online, which is nearing the three-decade mark with its 27th anniversary. As it does so, the developers are finally preparing to launch the New Legacy custom rule set shard.
The shard offers players a chance to experience the classic elements of the game, choosing between a story-driven experience and simply going their own way. Today, Broadsword kicks off a week-long stress test in preparation to launch the server. The test begins with a clean wipe, allowing players to help identify any other problems prior to launch.
Of course, there will also be a proper anniversary celebration. Players can expect collectibles. Since it is just about Halloween season, Trick or Treating, pumpkin carving, and more await, too.
