As Part Of Stars Reach's Stretch Goals, A New Race That's Very Zora-Like Is Planned For The MMORPG

When Stars Reach launched their Kickstarter campaign and hit the $200K mark they were striving for within an hour, I told you it was time for some stretch goals as the total raised was only going to continue to grow. As of this writing, the MMORPG's total has surpassed the $500K mark and yes, stretch goals have been added. That means 3 added stretch goals have already been reached including the addition of 2 races and crafting appearance customizations are coming.

The first of the new species being added, the Hansians, has been in development for a while and the team is showing off some of the work that went into creating the Zelda Zora-like race. Starts Reach has wanted to hit 8 playable races from the start, but funding-wise, they may not have made that mark. Now they can come closer, and we get to see how the race evolved and why Stars Reach even took into account "cosplaying on a budget" when designing the race.

Hansians underwent quite a bit of focus group testing as they initially started out VERY fish-like, but slowly slid to a more fish/human crossbreed. This meant that they adopted not only scales like a fish, but also hairstyles and other more human attributes over time. The race "goes with the flow" (their pun, not mine), and hails from their homeworld Bonsurf. The weather on that planet being rather tumultuous and dry land being a bit of a premium has led to very "go where the water takes you" philosophies throughout Hansian culture.

Hansians come from a culture that espouses the need to share and make sure everyone is provided for, even if that means hiding a desire to be selfish sometimes. They also love pasta, apparently.
