Archlord 2 Introduces Guild Battles
To me, it's a bit of a surprise that a game heavily focused on PvP doesn't launch with Guild Battles these days. It's such a requested (and somewhat expected) feature that I would expect most MMOs to have some version of the feature at launch. That opinion aside, Webzen has announced that the Guild Battles feature is now available in their free to play game, Archlord II.
In Archlord II, Guilds can jump into one of five Guild Battles once per week. These contests involve one guild defending the area (the winning guild from the previous battle) and any other guilds attacking the area to try and claim it as their own. To win, attacking guilds must gain entry into a stronghold and try to obtain a relic stored within the stronghold's walls. The catch? You'll have to use strategy to win as ONLY Guild Masters can claim the relic. This cycle repeats until the battle ends. The guild that has the relic at the end of the battle controls that zone for the week. Control nets your guild access to new vendors with extra discounts and new skills at their disposal.
This update also adds the new El Dorado area. This zone is more for the PvE fans out there. A few times a week, players of any level can enter the area and attempt to fight of waves of Golden Monsters. This sort of "instance" gives players a chance to net some serious rewards for their success.
For a list of some of the rewards available, head on over to Archlord II's site.
