Do "MMO" and "MMORPG" mean the same thing in your mind or is "MMO" more encompassing than that?
in 2019 I expect gaming to be on Oculus Rift or its yet to be seen competitors. I really think games will head in that direction.
as far as payment models go, I think there will be a system like Netflix by then. where you pay x amount of dollars a month to access x amount of titles. I think the p2p b2p f2p system will be all but phased out by then. I think microtransactions in some forms will still exist but will be diminished by todays comparisons. consoles do something very similar already and it seems quite popular.
with the birth of the WWE network this year I expect many premium channels like HBO etc to also follow suit the same way. its more profitable for them, cheaper for the customer and accessible in many places whenever you want. I really think its the direction media entertainment will go in the future.
but I guess only time will tell.
