Cinematics dont really do it for me neither sure its a nice thing to see some extra eye candy but not before they show some gameplay especially Combat systems i go for the buy button.. Far to many new online or mmo games lack in this..

Swtor has this issue in my opinion since its alot of flash but when u login into the game the combat system is just not fitting the game, i played the game to endgame content a few times doh but i would had been a frequent player if the combat system was less Skill based 1-9.

Cinamatics are meaningful from a storyline point of view as with everything they are the means (a tool) to convey the story to the players. It can leave you hyped from that point of view but if your cinematic is.... say a random 4 player run towards a dark brooding monster without any background it's saying nothing (or just too little besides the type of graphx used) to the audience.
