Free to Play Police: Daybreak Games Takes H1Z1 B2P...TWICE Ep. 2

Remember when H1Z1 went into Early Access a year ago? Remember when it was announced as a free-to-play title from the start? Hell, remember when it was all just one game? All that has changed as Daybreak Games pulls what might be one of the worst PR moves I've ever seen in free-to-play...even if it may be better for the game itself.

Let us know what you think and if you'd like to see more of this kind of content in the future!

Many games are doing this, buy to lay is the best option for this type of game. Albion online just did the same thing too.

Also, the game is still in the top 5-10 selling games on steam after this announcement, top 10-20 played games on steam and all of them have paid money to get in beta, the only ones mad are freeloaders that never wanted to put any money into the game anyway.

Big mistake. One free to play game became two buy to play games. Lame Daybreak.

H1Z1 Sucks I can't believe people fall for it and pay money for something so lazy and incomplete by alpha standards..

They should be ashamed of them selves.

The real fools are the people that thought H1Z1 was still going to be free to play. Yeah they said at first it was free to play, but that game has been in early access for so long and a company change that there was no chance it was going to go free to play. Shoot the only reason why they never technically released the game was because they didn't want to drop the price tag. Now that they are re branding the game into 2 games, the games will get actual releases and still have their price tag. You may think that they are liars but financial plans for games can change while in development. This is "steam early access" at it's finest, with the common misconception that if a game is in early access and you have to pay for it, it "generally" means it is released. They didn't lie, they haven't even spoke about the game being released or even free to play for like over a year. The only reason their would be to complain about this is that they are separating the game and you have to pay for 2 games that originally was one.

I don't even think you have to shoot them behind the shed. Just leave them a gun, they seem to be quite ready to do the right thing. Sigh. And here I was so intrigued by Everquest Next.

This mess kinda makes SWTOR look good in comparison. At least it's alive, healthy, and keeps moving forward at a decent pace, and I'll take "bad" F2P over empty promises any time. Been plagued by those in real life for long enough, don't need them in my videogames. >_<
