Lootboxes are gambling in all but name. They are the hallmark of shameless greed and lazy game design. It is a cancer to video gaming and I look forward to the inevitable (second) industry crash if the bean counters want to go down this path again.
In the meantime, I'll be playing indie and classic games instead. Many of which are vastly superior in quality to the cynical cash grabs pinched out by contemporary AAA publishers.
