I can't say that the walled gardens bother me. Do I think it could be better overall if they didn't exist. Yes. However, I have always thought of them like a physical store. You couldn't legally go into a store and sell your product so why should it be any different for a digital store. With a physical store, it's not even up for debate but somehow it is digitally. I fail to see the real difference besides ease of access.
