For the question of the week: Look, I love EQ. It was my first MMO, the game that made me fall in love with the genre. I even still go back occasionally. That said, I think I'd almost rather see it put down than pawned off to any of the likely companies. It's true we don't know what Amazon is capable of game-wise, but we may never know, and we don't need another 'EQ Next' tease. And as for EA or Blizzard? I don't want to see what they would do to my beloved game. With EA we'd get a half-finished game with lockboxes and questionable monetization galore. With Blizzard, we'd get copy pasted features of whatever was hot at the time, and a game a two year old could play blindfolded successfully. I don't think any of these have the vision to make something suitable, even if they have the cash. No, I think I'll hold out hope that Pantheon will be as good as it looks, and gain enough traction to stick around as a 'modern EQ'.
