Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel To Have Over 10,000 Cards
Including Blue-Eyes White Dragon And Exodia.
It's not quite time to d-d-d-d-duel yet, but there is a little more information out there regarding Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, the free-to-play adaptation of the TCG that Konami announced last month. A new trailer shows off gameplay -- most of which is your standard digital TCG fare, with fancy and forceful F/X when a card enters play or attacks -- but there is one spicy tidbit of information near the end.
"Unlock over 10,000 cards*" the video declares, with the asterisk informing us that "some cards may require event participation or in-game purchases." That shouldn't be too surprising, but it does seem to indicate that at least some cards will not be obtainable strictly through gameplay.
The video's description restates those facts, as well as saying that that game will use "official Master Rules, offering an exciting new, free-to-play way of enjoying intense, beautifully presented Duels on the latest gaming systems." Master Duel will launch for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, Steam, iOS, and Android; Konami has yet to announce a launch date.
