You Can Check Out Gigantic: Rampage Edition Free For A Week Starting Right Now
Bringing a game back from the dead is hard, it's harder with a price tag.
The return of Gigantic: Rampage Edition caught a lot of gamers by surprise. The hero-shooter/MOBA had quite the ups and downs in the past, but it was nice to see that the game was being given a second chance.
One thing we were a bit concerned about was the game's decision to stick with a box fee. It isn't expensive, but charging $19.99 to get players to try a game that had a bad track record as a free-to-play title, even with promised additions and improvements, certainly makes for an uphill battle.
If you held off on paying to play Gigantic, maybe that paid off as a free access week kicks off today and will run until June 26th. The only "catch" is that the free week is exclusive to the Epic Games Store. In game you'll have access to the full game with no restrictions.
The 5v5 game is available on other platforms including Steam, PS4/5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and does allow for crossplay, but again, the trial is Epic Games only.
Should you opt to buy the game after the trial, it contains no microtransactions at all and all items in game are gained through earning currency through gameplay.
