Yoozoo Games' CEO Dead Of Suspected Poisoning
The Founder and CEO of Shanghai-based Yoozoo Games, Lin Qi, passed away on Christmas Day. Yoozoo (or Youzu) is best known for its free-to-play browser titles, like the League of Angels series or Game of Thrones: Winter Is Coming, and the cause of the 39-year-old Lin's death sounds like it might have been written by George R.R. Martin himself.
Police in Shanghai are investigating Lin's death as a possible poisoning, with one of Lin's co-workers, identified as a 39-year-old male with the surname Xu, being detained as a suspect. Lin was admitted to a hospital on Dec. 16, suffering from "acute symptoms of illness," his company said at the time.
Lin was also the co-producer of Netflix's upcoming adaptation of sci-fi novel "The Three-Body Problem." Suspect Xu has been listed as an employee of Yoozoo's film division, which was working on the project.
