Yet Another NFT-Focused MMORPG Studio Pops Up, This Time From Dead Or Alive Creator Tomonobu Itagaki
The company’s first game will be “more accessible and profitable than traditional games”.
Tomonobu Itagaki, the creator of the Dead or Alive series, recently announced the launch of an all-new game studio focusing on Web3 – a new iteration of the internet with a focus on decentralization. Yes, that means things like blockchain.
The company, Apex Game Studios, has already announced its first game: Warrior. Built around many of the same concepts as AAA games, Warrior attempts to address the problems most gamers have with the crypto or NFT-focused game concepts – that being fun. According to the press release, it “removes the ’money game’ mode and is more accessible and profitable than traditional games”. The company also states the game “aims to solve the performance and security issues of GameFi 1.0 and achieve GameFi 2.0”. For those wondering, GameFi is play-to-earn games using blockchain to pay players to…well…play.
