XLGames Announces NFT-rich ArcheWorld, To Launch In July
It's OK if you're tired of all this, we are too.
ArcheAge drew plenty of "scam" accusations when it launched -- some of which were proven in court -- and now XLGames would like cast all doubt aside as to whether it will go down that route again. Spoiler: It will.
According to MMOCulture, earlier this week at a media event for blockchain platform BORA, XLGames co-CEO Choi Gwan-ho announced ArcheWorld, a game in which players "will be able to own everything they create." The goal of the game will be "to make NFT items so that they can be owned, stored, and traded" and foster a "complete 'creator economy' in which users go beyond simply owning the right to an item, make quests for the game, make maps, create dungeons, and revise and propose plans."
ArcheWorld appears to be a separate project from ArcheAge 2, which isn't scheduled for release for another two years. On the other hand, ArcheWorld -- which might just be a version of ArcheAge with NFTs grafted on -- is scheduled for launch in July, because if you're going to get in on the grift, you need to do it fast before it all comes crumbling down.
