Healers And Damage Dealers Square Off As WoW’s Solo Shuffle Showdown Kicks Off Today
Don’t miss the very first WoW Esports tournament featuring individuals instead of teams.
Today is the start of World of Warcraft’s Esports tournament where PvP players will compete as individuals instead of on a team during the first-ever Solo Shuffle tournament. 36 players from NA and EMEA will fight it out for a share of the $100,000 prize pool. The tournament starts today at 10 AM PDT and ends on Sunday, September 25. Players can tune in to Warcraft’s respective YouTube or Twitch channels to watch the venue online.
Players will be participating either as Healers or Damage-dealers. Each region will have a winner in each category. The competition will be split into two stages: Knockout Stage and Finals. The Knockout Stage will start today with EMEA, while NA will be held on September 24. 36 Players will play three matches divided into groups of 6 players. Players will be randomly reseeded after each match. Each round won in a match will grant one point. The top eight Damage-dealers and top four Healers will advance to the Finals.
The Finals will be held on September 25 for both EMEA and NA. All points that were earned during the Knockout Stage will be reset to 0 for a fair and equal playing field. The top 12 players from each region will play two matches each, randomly seeded in groups of six players. After these matches, the four Damage-dealers and two Healers with the highest score will play one last match. Finally, the Damage-dealer and Healer with the highest scores throughout the day will be crowned the Solo Shuffle Showdown Champions.

Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
