Farewell Open Beta! World War 3’s First Seasonal Update Adds New DMZ And Gobi Desert Zones
This is the end of the open beta stage.
Today, Wishlist Games announced the first-ever seasonal update for the tactical shooter World War 3. This update ends the game’s open beta stage and introduces new content focused on the Korean DMZ and the Gobi Desert in China. In addition to the new areas, players can expect new gear inspired by the South Korean and Chinese militaries.
The update also introduces the game’s first Global Operation, titled “Operation Redline”. This is one of four Global Operations planned for the game’s first year in action. Each will add new maps, features, game modes, weapons, and more. Operation Redline focuses on conflict in both China and the Korean Peninsula, and each of the new maps is based around a different game mode. The Gobi Desert is intended for Team Deathmatches. The DMZ is larger and designed for Tactical Ops.
As mentioned above, the update also includes additional content like weapons, operator bundles, and vehicles. These items are created using a new set of blueprints that can be unlocked via normal game progression. No Battle Pass is needed to obtain them.
