World Of Tanks Gets Limited Time Battle Royale-Inspired Mode
In news that should surprise no one -- because everyone's done it -- World of Tanks is getting a Battle Royale-Inspired mode. What might be surprising is that it's a limited-time thing. From August 26 to September 16, players can take part in the Steel Hunter mode, where they can fight alone or as Platoons to be the last man standing.
To win, players just need to be the sole survivor or part of the last remaining platoon. Similar to other battle royales, players will start out on equal footing, choosing one of three tanks that represent the classic World of Tanks nations. Players (or platoons) choose where to spawn on the new city map designed especially for the mode and, as is a common feature of battle royales, the map will begin to shrink.
The mode will reward players with Battle XP as well as special treasures found nowhere else, so you completionists will want to get in on the action. Details on how to do so are available on the game's site.
